Protective base
Installation of a protective base under
the cooktop is allowed but not required.
If an interim shelf is fitted under the
cooktop, there must be a minimum gap

of 4 / " (110 mm) between the top of

the countertop and the top of the shelf.
Leave a gap of 5/16" (10 mm) at the
back of the shelf to accommodate the
cable. If the cooktop has an external
power connection box, the minimum

gap is 1 / " (35 mm).
