Troubleshooting
Resolutions to common problems you may encounter are described
in the following sections. See Appendix B, Diagnostic Error Codes for
resolutions to diagnostic errors displayed through a terminal emula-
tor you may encounter when you boot the AEC-4412B/7412B.
Descriptions of the error codes displayed through the front panel
LCD are also provided.
Terminal Emulator and COM Port Problems
Problem: Screen continuously puts out garbage characters.
The likely cause of this problem is a baud rate mismatch between
the terminal emulator and the AEC-4412B/7412B controller. The
default baud rate is 115200. Follow these steps if you set your termi-
nal emulator to this rate and still get garbage characters:

Shut off the power to the enclosure containing the AEC-4412B/
7412B.

Press the space bar of your terminal emulator.

Turn on the power while continuing to press the space bar.
This will allow the AEC-4412B/7412B to auto-detect the baud
rate setting.
