WHEN CONNECTING NEW 3-PIN PLUG (U.K. ONLY):
Do not connect the blue (= neutral) or brown (= live) wire
in the cord of this tool to the earth terminal of the plug
If for any reason the old plug is cut off the cord of this
tool, it must be disposed of safely and not left unattended
USE
Assembly instructions 7
- unfold the tool and ensure that screw A fits the slot in
the tool handle connection
- push down lever B completely for locking the handle
connection
! if necessary, use hex key C for loosening/
tightening screw A when handle connection
cannot be locked completely
- for folding the tool handle vice-versa
Extending tool to medium length (165 cm) 8
- loosen locking sleeve D by turning it in the direction of
the unlocking symbol on the tool
- extend the tool to the desired length (123 - 165 cm)
- tighten locking sleeve D by turning it in the direction of
the locking symbol on the tool
Extending tool to maximum length (220 cm) 9
- loosen locking sleeve E by turning it in the direction of
the unlocking symbol on the tool handle
- insert additional handle F into the end of the tool handle
until the marking as illustrated aligns with the edge of
locking sleeve E
- tighten locking sleeve E by turning it in the direction of
the locking symbol on the tool handle
! extending the tool to its maximum length is only
possible when tool is already extended to its
medium length
Backing pads q
- never run the tool without backing pad G
! replace damaged backing pads immediately
(loosen/fasten pad screw H with hex key C)
! unplug tool before removing/mounting backing
pads
Mounting sanding discs w
- simply press sanding disc J onto backing pad with
perforation in sanding disc corresponding with
perforation in backing pad
- if necessary, clean backing pad first
! the dust suction requires the use of perforated
sanding discs

- loosen locking sleeve E by turning it in the direction of
the unlocking symbol on the tool handle
- insert flexible hose K into the end of the tool handle as
illustrated
- tighten locking sleeve E by turning it in the direction of
the locking symbol on the tool handle
- connect the flexible hose with the Ø 57 mm adapter
directly to an industrial vacuum cleaner (remove
vacuum cleaner hose first)
- one may also connect flexible hose K with one of the
3 adapters to an industrial vacuum cleaner without
removing the vacuum cleaner hose
- for mounting vacuum cleaner adapter L or M use
screwdriver N as illustrated

- tool standard P prevents the hose from damage when
putting the tool aside during work breaks
- control the airflow by sliding regulator Q over the
opening in tool connector R
- the vacuuming power is at its lowest level when the
opening is fully visible

! before the accessory reaches the workpiece, the
tool should run at full speed

- unlock switch/switch off tool t c
! before switching off the tool, you should lift it from
the workpiece
! the accessory continues to rotate for a short time
after the tool has been switched off

Ensures reaching the maximum speed smoothly without
a sudden impact when tool is switched on

Keeps the speed at a constant level as the load
increases

For optimal sanding results on different materials
- with wheel T you can adjust the sanding speed
steplessly from minimum to maximum
- always adjust speed to grit size used
- before starting a job, find the optimal speed and grit by
testing out on spare material
Holding and guiding the tool u
! always hold the tool firmly with both hands
! while working, always hold the tool at the grey-
coloured grip area(s)
- guide the tool parallel to the working surface and move
it in circles or in a cross pattern
! do not apply too much pressure on the tool; let the
sanding surface do the work for you
- do not tilt the tool in order to avoid unwanted sanding
marks
- keep ventilation slots V 2 uncovered
Sanding
- the amount of material removed is determined by the
speed of the sanding disc and the grit size used
- the speed of the sanding disc decreases relative to the
pressure applied to the tool
