Prerequisites for use

CAUTION
If the test unit is inflated with pure oxygen, there is a risk of fire.
► Only breathing air as per EN 12 021 from a fixed
compressed air system or a compressed air cylinder may
be used for the test unit.
NOTICE
The maximum permitted high pressure is 300 bar.
The maximum permitted medium pressure is 10 bar. At higher
pressures, both the test unit and the respiratory protection
product may be damaged.

Prior to first use

Before the test unit can be put into operation, the following
steps must be carried out:
1. only Dräger Testor 3500

Install the test software on the PC and create the data

(see chap. 4.3.1 on page 19).
2. Set up the test unit (see chapter 4.3.2 on page 19).
4.3.1 Install the test software on the PC and create
the data
The use of the test software requires proficiency in MS Windows.
The PC on which the test software is to be installed must meet
the following minimum requirements:
Processor: 1.6 GHz or higher

RAM: 2 GB or larger

Free disk space: >500 MB

Operating system: Windows 7/8/10

1 free USB port

The monitor resolution should be set to 1024 x 768.

For installation, the user must have administrator rights for
the PC.
1. If necessary, download the "Dräger Protector Software"
test software from the Dräger website (www.draeger.com/
software) and unzip.
2. Run the "Protector.exe" file.
3. Follow the instructions in the setup program.
The required program components will be installed in the
selected folder and an entry created in the start menu.
4. Observe the information displayed during installation.
5. Restart the PC and log in.

The following user names are available on delivery of the
test software:
user name "Chief" with password "Createdata"

user name "admin" with password "admin"

6. Import the desired device data with the test settings.
The following data sets are available:
for the EU database in the EU directory:
mask_EU.zip (device data for full face masks)

LDV_EU.zip (apparatus data for lung demand valves)

reducer_EU.zip (apparatus data for pressure reducers)

SCBA_EU.zip (apparatus data for compressed air

breathing apparatus)
CPS_EU.zip (device data for chemical protective suits)

7. If necessary, create additional users in the test software
and also respiratory protection products, customers and
locations and check the settings in the "Extras" menu.

4.3.2

Setting up test unit (with table mount)

Place the test unit on a table or workbench.
1. Fix mount to the test unit with the 2 screws and 2 feet (A).
2. Align the table mount parallel with the table edge. The
distance between the table edge and the front holes on the
table mount must be 12 cm.
3. Fasten the table mount to the table using the screws
supplied (B).

4. Lift the test unit slightly at the back.
5. Align the front feet on the test unit with the slots in the table
mount and move the test unit backwards in the table
mount. The back feet must engage with the table mount.

Connect the test unit to the PC with the USB cable.
