2 seconds or longer
• The starting screen appears, and then the
lock screen appears.
• When you turn the power on for the first
time, make the initial settings following to
the onscreen instructions (P.103).

• When the Home screen is set to "TouchWiz
basic home" or "TouchWiz easy home",
swipe (P.75) the screen up, down, left or
right until the screen lock is unlocked.
■ Checking the radio wave condition
An icon indicating radio wave reception level
appears on the status bar (P.109).
When an icon representing "out of service"
appears, you are out of Xi/FOMA service area
or in a place where the radio wave cannot
reach.
