Console Port

The console port allows you to connect a terminal and perform remote or

(Switch 3226)

local out-of-band management. The console port uses a standard null
modem cable and is set to auto-baud, 8 data bits, no parity and 1 stop
bit.

Green
A 100 Mbps link is present.
Yellow
A 10 Mbps link is present.
Green flashing There is 100 Mbps activity on the port.
Yellow flashing There is 10 Mbps activity on the port.
Yellow to
A link is present, but the port is disabled or the port has
Green flashing
failed its loopback test.
Off
No link is present.
Green
The SFP Module is present and has a link. The corresponding
10/100/1000 Mbps port is disabled.
Off
No SFP Module has been inserted. The corresponding
10/100/1000 port can be used.
Green
A 1000 Mbps link is present.
Yellow
A 10/100 Mbps link is present.
Green Flashing There is 1000 Mbps activity on the port.
Yellow Flashing There is 10/100 Mbps activity on the port.
Yellow to
A link is present, but the port is disabled or the port has

failed its loopback test.
Off
No link is present.
Green
The Switch is powered-up and operating normally.
Green flashing The Switch is starting up or the Switch software is being
upgraded.
Yellow
The Switch is reporting a fault. (see Chapter 4, "Problem
Solving")
Off
The Switch is not receiving power or there is a fault with the
Power Supply Unit.
