Setting fingerprints
Fingerprint authentication is an authentication
by fingerprint sensor. Putting your finger
registered on the fingerprint sensor, unlock the
screen by fingerprint authentication.
■ Precautions for using fingerprint
authentication
• This function is designed to authenticate
using the characteristics information of
fingerprint image. For this reason, user with
fingerprint that does not provide enough
characteristics information may not be able
to use the fingerprint authentication.
• Authentication performance (how successfully
your fingerprint can be recognized when
you touch the fingerprint sensor properly)
varies depending on the condition of your
fingers. Fingerprint registration may fail or the
authentication performance may decrease if
your fingers have any of the conditions listed
below. Note that you may be able to improve
the authentication performance by wiping or
washing your hands, using a different finger for
authentication, or registering a larger area of
your fingerprint.

- Wrinkled or wet or sweated (for example,
after you take a bath)
- Extremely dry
- Sweaty or greasy
- Dirty with mud, oil, or other contamination
- Rough or injured (for example, cut or
inflamed)
- Worn so much that the fingerprint is unclear
- Totally different in texture than when you
registered your fingerprint
• Fingerprint authentication technology does
not guarantee completely accurate personal
authentication or identification. Please note
that DOCOMO assumes no responsibility
for any damages resulting from using the
terminal by the third party, or inability to use
the terminal.
■ Usage precautions for fingerprint sensor
• Do not strike the fingerprint sensor or give a
hard shock. Do not press hard with a pointed
objects, hard objects, etc. May cause failure
or damage.
• Do not attach a sticker or paint with ink etc.
on the fingerprint sensor.
• Dirt of dust, sebum, etc. may make fingerprint
scanning difficult or reduce the authentication
performance. Clean the surface of the
fingerprint sensor from time to time.
