Manual
After all the connected drives have been located, the RAID sets identified in
the process are examined with regard to completeness and consistency and put
out together with their determined status on the screen.
This status message has the following meaning:
"Ready"
RAID set is okay and ready for unrestricted operation.
"Rebuild"
The drives of a Mirror or Mirror-Striped RAID set are not synchronous
and need rebuilding, for instance in SETUP. Nevertheless, the
RAID set is ready for operation.
"Incomplete" Creating a Stripe or Mirror-Stripe RAID set was interrupted
unintentionally; continuation of the process is possible in SETUP.
"Hidden"
This RAID cannot be addressed by the operating system and
application programs, an option often used with "spare" drives,
amongst others.
"Broken"
At least one drive is missing in the RAID set.
"Invalid"
The data structures of this RAID set are inconsistent or unknown
and can therefore no longer be automatically edited or rebuilt.
Manual data preservation may be necessary in this case.
If a serious problem within a RAID set has been identified, the RAID set in
question is write protected with "Read only" being additionally displayed; that is,
data may well be read (for the purpose of data protection, for instance), but for
safety reasons, the RAID set cannot be written on until the problem has been
solved.
In the following, pressing the key F4 gives you the possibility of activating the
integrated RAID setup.
