Preface TSO8 Series The 8 Series is a disaggregated platform that provides you with a scalable, reconfigurable sampling oscilloscope. The 8 Series consists of: ■ TSO820: Sampling oscilloscope mainframe that can house up to two modules. ■ TSOVu: Software application you install on a PC. It provides the UI for the oscilloscope (connects to the mainframe through LAN). -

To avoid damage, turn off the power before installing or removing a module. Power off the mainframe. The TSOVu base software enables mainframe connectivity and operation, cursors, results tables, and other features. The base software package also includes the Pulse measurements plug-in. Determine the current version of firmware installed on the instrument using the front panel LCD screen menu. Download the instrument firmware to a USB drive: Navigate to C:\Program Files\Tektronix\TSOVu_Firmware to locate the firmware that was downloaded to your PC when you installed the TSOVu installation package. - Page 28 In TSOVu, select Connect > System Configuration and enter the previously noted IP address.
