Iskra ME382 (& MT382) Smart Meter – Installer Instructions
Although installing this smart meter only involves connecting four wires, we recommend that it should only
be carried by a qualified electrician. However, the direct replacement of an existing meter, outside of a
special area
, does not currently need notification to Building Control by a Competent Person under Part P.

The supply circuit must be disconnected during the installation, and only re-energised once all the wiring
connections are secure and the terminal cover is installed. Please also check that there is electricity in the
flat downstream of the meter after the installation.
These meters are remotely read and credited by the tenant and if they were to be installed on the wrong
it is really important that the
circuit then that tenant would be crediting his neighbour's meter. So
correct meter is installed in the correct location.
The meters are dispatched with the
location printed on the packaging box, and there is also a meter serial number which can be used to match
the correct location by the labels. (If the wrong meter has accidentally been installed in the wrong location
please tell us so that we can correct it remotely).
