STARTING THE ENGINE
Before starting the engine, it is imperative:
- to open the fuel supply valve ;
- to open the sea water intake valve of the engine ;
- to switch on the battery supply by using the battery isolator switches ;
- to put the control lever in neutral.
Make a habit of looking to see if sea water is pumped out with the exhaust gases as soon as you start the engine. If no
water runs out, stop the engine immediately. Check the coolant flow.
As soon as the engine starts, the engine compartment bilge fan operates.
