  • Page 34: Quick Selection - Section C - Acoustics

ARTUS™ Comfort Quick Selection - Section C - Acoustics Noise performance is critical to satisfactory selection of air conditioning equipment. The components within Artus were selected to give an acceptable noise level at ‘typical’ cooling effects and supply airflow rates. For a given set of chilled water temperatures, the cooling effect depends on the supply airflow and to a good approximation they are directly proportional.
  • Page 35 Comfort ARTUS™ Assessment by an Acoustic Consultant For maximum accuracy the assessment of the acoustics is best undertaken by an acoustic consultant. Many factors need to be taken into account, including the noise generated by each Artus unit, the effect of multiple Artus units, the distance between noise source and observer, room reverberation and the extent of absorption by surfaces.
  • Page 36 ARTUS™ Comfort Quick Selection - Section C - Acoustics Assessment without an Acoustic Consultant For projects that do not have an acoustic consultant the following estimations are provided. This is a less precise approach than using an acoustic consultant. These estimates are for a number of typical case study scenarios. The NR figures have been calculated for each case by an acoustic consultant and the input data is shown.
