Comfort ARTUS™ Controls Room Operator Unit (optional) The Room Operator Unit offers touch sensitive keys, an internal NTC sensor, segmented backlit display and is powered directly via the KNX bus. The Room Operator Unit has an integral sensor to measure room temperature. When networked with an Artus, it controls to an average of the room temperature taken from the operator unit and the return air temperature of each respective unit.

ARTUS™ Comfort Quick Selection - Section C - Acoustics Noise performance is critical to satisfactory selection of air conditioning equipment. The components within Artus were selected to give an acceptable noise level at ‘typical’ cooling effects and supply airflow rates. For a given set of chilled water temperatures, the cooling effect depends on the supply airflow and to a good approximation they are directly proportional.
Page 35
Comfort ARTUS™ Assessment by an Acoustic Consultant For maximum accuracy the assessment of the acoustics is best undertaken by an acoustic consultant. Many factors need to be taken into account, including the noise generated by each Artus unit, the effect of multiple Artus units, the distance between noise source and observer, room reverberation and the extent of absorption by surfaces.
Page 36
ARTUS™ Comfort Quick Selection - Section C - Acoustics Assessment without an Acoustic Consultant For projects that do not have an acoustic consultant the following estimations are provided. This is a less precise approach than using an acoustic consultant. These estimates are for a number of typical case study scenarios. The NR figures have been calculated for each case by an acoustic consultant and the input data is shown.

Additional clearance is required below the unit for removal of the raft. The raft is removed / opened by pivoting on one edge.
ARTUS™ Comfort Installation X, Y, Z, Adjustable Installation Frame (supplied by others) The Artus hybrid fan coil unit has been designed to fit in a low profile ceiling void. The unit is 206mm tall. ARTUS™ Comfort Installation Condensate Drain During operation in cooling mode, the unit removes moisture and lowers humidity from the air. This moisture must be removed to ensure that the drain tray does not overflow. The condensate pump outlet must be connected to the building drainage system as per the diagram below. Airedale do not offer any commissioning services for the Artus. Mechanical commissioning, including water side balancing, must be completed by others before Airedale or other third party CAUTION Siemens Solution Partners configure the Artus(s) for master/slave operation, room operator units, BMS integration and so forth.

ARTUS™ Comfort Commissioning Pressure Independent Control Valve (PICV) The valve is factory set to position 9. Flow adjustment To set the selected flow, rotate the dial on the valve to the desired position. Line up the desired preset position to the indicator mark on the valve body.
Thermic Valve Commissioning Steps The Airedale valve override plugs must be used during commissioning to simulate a heating/cooling demand. This is important as - unlike fan coil units without this feature - the valve heads should not be removed during commissioning and must instead be driven to the correct heating or cooling position.
ARTUS™ ARTUS™ Comfort Comfort Maintenance Accessibility The design of the system allows servicing to be carried out readily and easily. Lowering the fascia enables access and allows replacement of certain parts. Electrical The equipment has been designed and manufactured to meet international safety standards but, like any mechanical/ electrical equipment, care must be taken if you are to obtain the best results.
