5.0 System Diskettes (Reference and Diagnostic)

If the hard disk drive is not operational, you can run the system programs
from the System Diskettes (Reference Diskette and the Diagnostic
Diskette).
There are three types of Reference Diskettes and three types of Diagnostic
Diskettes.
The type of processor board (type 1, 2 or 3), installed in the
system determines which System Diskettes to use.

The Reference Diskette contains the system programs and the Diagnostic
Diskette contains the testing programs.

To run the Advanced Diagnostics from the Diagnostic Diskette,
start the system from the Reference Diskette.
press Ctrl+A and follow the instructions on the screen.
When you make a backup copy of the System Partition, certain files will
not be loaded to the backup copy.
