How to Test the Homerun Cable
1. Disconnect the Homerun cable from the digital load cell. NOTE: You do not have to
remove the Homerun cable from the conduit between the truck scale and scale house.
2. Connect the end of the Homerun cable disconnected from the digital load cell to the
CABLE TEST port on the NEST.
3. Next, connect the wire with the clip from the NEST to the outer metal cover of the cable.
This allows the test to check for an internal wire shorted to the outer metal cover.
4. Remove the 225D indicator power cord from the wall outlet, and then remove the 14
acorn nuts securing the rear panel to the main housing.
5. Lift the rear panel from the main housing, taking care not to stretch the cable and wires
between the panel and main housing. Lay the rear panel next to the indicator.
IMPORTANT: You may need to loosen the gland connectors for the I/O cables to
allow enough slack in the cable and wires to avoid stretching them.
6. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, press down on the release bars on the P5 terminal
of the 225DLC card, and remove all five Homerun cable wires from the 225DLC card.
7. Referring to the table below (or the label on the CABLE TEST REMOTE) for terminal
connections, connect each wire from the Homerun cable to the terminal block on the
CABLE TEST REMOTE.
8. To terminate a wire, use a small flat blade screwdriver, and press down on the release
bar for the terminal. Insert the wire into the opening, and then remove the screwdriver.
The release bar will return to its original position, locking the wire in place.
9. Repeat the procedure until all five wires are in place.
10. Next, on the NEST keypad, press the 1 key, and then the ENTER key.
11. The display will change to show the cable test screen.
