4. Management software

A free software with the following functions is available for Windows® and Linux operating systems:
- display of all operating and diagnostic data in case of problems;
- special function setup;
- automatic shutdown of all computers powered by the UPS (if connected to the TCP/IP network).
The software is used by connecting a PC RS232 port to the interface socket [5] at the back of the UPS using a serial cable.

Special functions

Some of the special functions that can be set using the software are:
1. Extension of the PLL range: it allows to expand the locking interval of the network frequency with range ±2% to
±14%.
2. Setting of the output frequency (50Hz 60Hz).
3. Bypass activation speed: this function is useful for example with load with short and repeated inrush occurrences
(such as laser printers).
4. Automatic restart after end of autonomy: the UPS automatically restarts when the power network connection is
reinstated, after a stop due to total discharge of the batteries. The function is enabled by default.
