3. Operation and use

Emergency Power Off (EPO)

The UPS has an external normally closed contact (NC) that can be opened to activate the immediate stop of the UPS. The
EPO terminal is at the back of the UPS, on the EPO pins of the input/output connectors. The connection of the remote
Emergency Power Off (EPO) unit must be completed by a specialist technician.
3.8

Communication devices

Whad HE 3000-4000-5000-6000 UPS are equipped with the following communication devices:
- an RS232 serial port available on the female DB9 connector;
- a logic level interface available on the D89 male connector;
- a SNMP slot.
The communication interfaces are found in the rear of the UPS.
CAUTION
For the operator's safety it is essential the interfaces are connected in such a way that the maximum voltage
between any two wires connected to the interface and between any one of these wires and the earth is less than 42Vpk
or less than 60Vdc.

3.8.1 RS232 serial port

Via computer, the RS232 serial port allows to access some data relative to the operation of the UPS as well as control the
unmanned shutting down of the operating system.
