RC2000C Polar Tracking Antenna Controller
ANTENNA LONGITUDE LLL.L: 97.5 W
TENTHS AFTER DEC. PT
The antenna/downlink location is necessary for the satellite track path prediction algorithm. The format
for these entries is degrees.tenths of degrees (as opposed to degrees.minutes as on a map). A
conversion table from minutes to tenths of degrees is shown below.
After entering the latitude/longitude using the 0-9 and . keys, press ENTER. The RC2000C will prompt
for the appropriate direction terminator, E/W for longitude, N/S for latitude. Enter the correct value using
the 2-North, 8-South, 4-East, or 6-West keys.
ANT SIZE (40 - 1200):366
CENTIMETERS
The Antenna Size is used to calculate various parameters associated with TRACK mode and is entered
in this screen. The size is specified in centimeters, and the following table lists some common sizes.
Diameter in Feet Meters
Use the 0-9 keys followed by ENTER to input the antenna diameter.
MOUNT TYPE:
MOTORIZED? 0-LAT, 1-D ENT, BKSP,SCRLL ^v
Mount type specifies the angle of the polar mount which has been motorized to create a dual axis type
mount. A properly adjusted single axis polar mount can be positioned on the geostationary satellites with
movement about only the azimuth axis. To create a dual axis antenna either the mount's declination
angle adjustment or latitude angle adjustment must be motorized. The inclined orbit tracking algorithm
must have knowledge of which angle on the polar mount has been motorized to properly implement the
Search and Step Track operations. See section 3.4.2 for a diagram of a polar mount showing the
declination and latitude angles.
AZIM CONSTANT: 1150
CNT PER RAD,O-DISABLE
ELEV CONSTANT:
CNT PER RAD,100-65535
The Azim and Elev Constants relate changes in the antenna azimuth and elevation pointing angles to
changes in the antenna azimuth and elevation position count values. The Azim Constant and Elev
