15. Connect the wires using UL listed waterproof wire nuts in the following manner (Note that the
supply-side wire may be a different gauge wire):
Input power
Line 1 (HOT)
Line 2 (HOT)
Ground
Neutral
The neutral wire must be connected to the supply-side neutral wire in order for the
charger to function properly.

16. Reinstall the cover of the plastic junction box by first inserting the slotted side of the lid onto the
lower right-hand side screw. Secure cover by tightening the upper left-hand screw.
17. Attach the access panel to the pedestal using eight #15 tamper-resistant screws. Torque to 19
lbs-in.
18. From the outside of the pedestal, attach the side opening cover plate using two #15 tamper-
resistant screws. Torque to 19 lbs-in.
System Test (Refer to figures 5 & 6)
19. Turn on the circuit breaker located in the service panel.
20. Perform the Charging Circuit Interrupting Device (CCID) test. Refer to the owner's manual for
test procedure.
21. Remove the coupler paddle from holster. Verify the charger displays
momentarily, then
circuit breaker or CCID has not tripped. Also check the input voltage and all wiring connected
to the charger.
22. Return the coupler paddle to its holster. Verify that the display goes blank.
23. The charger is now ready for use.
Site Clean Up
24. Recover all packing materials for return to the distributor.
25. Pick up all debris around the work area and sweep clean.
26. Present the owner's manual and installation manual to the owner of the charger.
