    FIGURE 4 SECTION E: PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE Once a year, or whenever the suction line will not hold a column of water, remove the Easy-access elbow cover (item 20) on the pump suction and inspect the check valve (item 21). The rubber check valve may become torn or may deteriorate with use.

    3. After adding oil it is a good idea to bleed off any air that is in the seal cavity. To do this fi rst make sure that the pump is running. Second, use a fl at head screwdriver to turn the air bleed valve head (item 1) counterclockwise.
