1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing an auxiliary motor from Etac. The manual
must be read thoroughly to avoid damage when handling and
using the product.
In this manual the User is the person sitting in the chair. The Carer
is the person helping the user.
All you need to do before using your Lille Viking is to familiarise
yourself with this manual and check that the batteries are fully
charged.
A versatile auxiliary motor that helps the carer to propel the wheel-
chair on uphill slopes and to provide resistance on downhill slopes.
When assistance is not required from the motor it is easy to el-
evate the motor/wheels with a handle. The wheelchair can then be
operated as usual, without needing to remove the auxiliary motor.
Lille Vikingis easy for the carer to handle by means of the operat-
ing controls that are mounted on the wheelchair's push handles.
A battery indicator is located on the auxiliary motor of the Lille
Viking to indicate power consumption. Our combination overview
allows you to quickly find information about which auxiliary motor
and mounting kits are suitable for your wheelchair.

2. General info

2.1 Normal use

Lille Viking is an electric supporting motor, which in combination
with a manual wheelchair makes everyday life easier for both the
user and his/her companion. To avoid risky situation and possible
injuries, it is important that all regulations are followed, both when
it comes to the wheelchair and the supporting motor. Please study
the documentation for wheelchair and supporting motor closely.
For users with a weight over 100 kg a chair with drum brakes is
recommended.

2.2 Swing wheel limitation

Lille Viking supporting motor should not be installed onto wheel-
chair with castor wheels smaller than 150 mm.

2.3 Warranty

5-year guarantee against material and manufacturing defects. For
terms and conditions, please see
www.etac.com. Batteries supplied by Etac come with a 1-year
guarantee.
Auxiliary motors that have been specially adapted by the customer
are not eligible for Etac's CE marking. Etac's guarantee no longer
applies. Special adaptations include everything that goes beyond
the instructions and settings set out in the product documenta-
tion. If there are any doubts concerning the adaptation, please
contact Etac for advice.

2.4 Transport

When transporting Lille Viking, the power must be switched off
by turning off the main power switch. When it comes to strapping
the wheelchair, we advise you to follow the directions from the
producer of the wheelchair.

2.5 Maintenance

Lille Viking has been designed for a service life of around 10 years
given normal use. The service life of an auxiliary motor is above all
dependent on the carer's style of driving and the maintenance of
the wheelchair, which means that different users may experience
either a shorter or longer service life for their auxiliary motor than
stated above. Maintenance shall be performed in accordance with
the reconditioning instructions available at www.etac.com

2.6 Wear parts

operating time of this product:

2.7 Cleaning

Clean the Lille Viking by wiping down the product using a damp
cloth with a non-abrasive cleaning agent with a pH level between
5 and 9, or with a 70% disinfectant solution. Do not rinse the
electrical parts of the product.
2.8 Batteries
The batteries are placed in a closed box, and are therefore well
protected. If a situation should occur where you for example drop
the batteries to the floor or get in contact with the gel inside the
batteries, wash and rinse immediately with plenty of water. You
must never charge a battery that has been damaged in any way.

2.9 Storage

When the supporting motor and the wheelchair is not being used,
the disengaging handle/-pedal should be in neutral position to
ease the weight of the supporting motor.

2.10 EMC

Even though Lille Viking 2000 is tested and approved, there it is
possible that:
a) the motor output may be influenced by electromagnetic fields
such as mobile phones.
b) the motor unit may have an influence on other electronic sys-
tems, such as alarm systems in stores.

2.11 Waste

The following parts shall be sorted upon waste disposal: The bat-
tery should be delivered to a battery recycling station, the motor
and control box should be delivered to an electronics recycling sta-
tion and the installation brackets should be sorted and delivered to
a metal recycling station.
