5.2 System Configuration

Connecting the hub (multi-port repeater) to a transceiver through a transceiver cable (AUI cables)
connecting multiple stations to the hub, as shown in Figure 5-1. For connecting station to the
hub, use twisted-pair cables.
When the distance between stations is relatively short, each station can be connected directly to
the hub through twisted-pair cables without using any coaxial cable or transceiver, as shown in
Figure 5-2.
