4.4.2 Cleaning block and PCR cassette preparation

Important!
Before inserting a PCR cassette into its slot, ensure that the cover plate and tubes are
uncontaminated. One PCR cassette can be inserted into its slot before the first position
on each donor tray. The correct orientation of the cassette and its cover plate is shown
on Figure 6.
If TMA Grand Master cannot successfully identify the loaded PCR cassette, clean the
slot area and the cassette, then insert the cassette again. For cleaning blocks use
regular (37mm size) blocks only.
To avoid contamination, cleaning block are used before each PCR sampling. A cleaning block is a virgin
recipient block from which paraffin core is extracted and placed back with the puncher, hence
cleaning its surface.
Upon selecting the cleaning block on the user interface, an automatic layout is generated based on
the size of the puncher in use. If not every cleaning position had been used up during a previous
project session, you can use that block further on but make sure to manually mark the first free
position.
After the software is informed that recipient block loading is finished, it applies a layout consisting
spots of the same puncher diameter on the cleaning block.
