Checking operation after a firmware update

1. Make sure that the inverter connects to the grid and operation appears normal.
2. Check Modbus fieldbus operation. If it was activated before the firmware update,
make sure that communication operates (for example, that the packet counters are
incrementing).
3. If extension module FSCA-01 or FENA-11/21 was installed and activated before the
firmware update, verify their operation (no red LEDs) and settings. Navigate to Main
menu > Communication > Fieldbus options. If the parameter list shows names
such as FBA par2, FBA par3..., order a system boot via parameter 196.08 to reload
the correct parameter names.
4. Disconnect the USB cable from the control panel and close the door.
Firmware update is now completed.

Troubleshooting

The firmware upload fails with error code 10
Upload terminates prematurely with error code 10. This happens when inverter operation
was not disabled before the firmware upload. Disable the inverter and retry.
The firmware upload fails with error code 5
Communication with the inverter cannot be initialized. Check that the correct serial port is
set in Drive Loader 2 and that the inverter is powered on.
The firmware upload fails with error code 7
The serial port login failed. Drive loader 2 is unable to carry out the protocol handshake
before the firmware upload. Do the actions for error code 10, then close and restart the
Drive Loader 2 tool and retry. If it is still unsuccessful, power cycle the inverter and retry.
The firmware upload terminates prematurely with another error code
If it is possible, determine the reason for the error code. The error code is probably caused
by temporary problems in the PC, USB cable and physical connections, communication
problems due to electrical interference, compromised software package, and so on.
Close and restart the Drive Loader 2 tool and retry. If it is still unsuccessful, power cycle
the inverter and retry.
If recovery attempts do not clear the problem, contact FIMER support. An inverter
firmware flash drive (ZMU-02) replacement may be the only option if all ordinary recovery
attempts fail.
