    The Touchgene Gradient has many scientific laboratory applications, including DNA sequencing and PCR. Aspects of the PCR process are claimed in U.S. Patent Nos. 4,683,195, 4,683,202, and 4,965,188. Use of the Touchgene Gradient in such processes does not convey a licence to practice the processes themselves.
  • Page 11: Cleaning Your Touchgene Gradient

    You can clean the case or the screen of the Touchgene Gradient with a cloth dipped in water or ethanol (methanol or formaldehyde can also be used). No part of the case or cover should be immersed in the solvents.

    M A N U A L The Heated Lid The heated lid is an integral part of the Touchgene Gradient. It can be switched “On” or “Off”, see ‘Program Defaults’ or ‘Editing screen’. To open the lid lift the back of the handle as shown and use it to lift the lid. To close the lid lower the lid onto the block with the samples in and press the handle shut.

    Exit Printing Data Logs As the Touchgene Gradient runs, profile information is stored on the Memory Card. This information defines the times and temperatures at various points during the run. A range of events creates data which is used to create a profile of the run.
