4.2

Cleaning and disinfecting

Clean and disinfect the full face mask after every use.
WARNING
!
The mask body must be cleaned sufficiently thoroughly that
no residues of skin care products remain on the mask body.
Otherwise the elasticity in the sealing area can be lost and the
full face mask will no longer sit correctly.
CAUTION
!
Do not use solvents (e.g. acetone, alcohol) or cleaning agents
containing abrasive particles for cleaning and disinfection.
Use only the described procedures and the specified cleaning
agents and disinfectants. Other agents, dosages and contact
times can damage the product.
For information about suitable cleaning agents and
disinfectants and their specifications, refer to document
9100081 at www.draeger.com/IFU.
1. If necessary, remove accessories and clean them separately.
2. Prepare a cleaning solution consisting of water and a cleaning
agent.
3. Clean all parts using a soft cloth with cleaning solution.
4. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
5. Prepare a disinfectant bath consisting of water and a disinfectant.
6. Put all parts to be disinfected in the disinfectant bath.
7. Thoroughly rinse all parts under running water.
8. Dry all parts in the air or in a drying cabinet (temperature: max.
60 °C). Do not expose to direct sunlight. Do not place the mask/
helmet adapter down on the face seal.

9. Grease the guides on the mask/helmet adapter with Voltalef or
Molykote 111.
10. Mount the accessories, if necessary.

The full face mask can also be cleaned and disinfected in a
washing machine. Further information can be obtained from
Dräger.
4.3
Checks
Check the full face mask according to the inspection and maintenance
intervals.
4.3.1
Visual inspection of the speech diaphragm
The speech diaphragm and O-ring must be clean and undamaged.
Otherwise clean or replace (see Chapter 4.4.4 on Page 19).
4.3.2
Visual inspection of the inhalation valve
The inhalation valve is visible in the connector. Check if the
inhalation valve disc moves freely by blowing into the connector.
Replace the valve disc, if required (see Chapter 4.4.6 on
Page 19).
4.3.3
Visual inspection of the exhalation valve
1. Remove the exhalation valve cover from the connector.
2. Pull out the valve disc.
3. The valve disc and valve seat must be clean and undamaged.
Otherwise clean and replace.
4. Moisten the valve disc with water and insert it.
