Postrequisites
All parts can now be properly cleaned and inspected. Check all o-rings and other seals for
wear. Replace as required.
After cleaning, all surfaces should be lubricated with a multipurpose lubricant that also
drives out moisture and protects against corrosion.
Service valve assembly
Prerequisites
A complete assembly drawing is provided in

The following provides additional key points for the assembly:
Make sure to place the by-pass stem seals in correct order.
All o-rings are to be lubricated when installed.
The tightening torque for the 8 main bolts (9) is 165 N m.
Service Valve assembly is performed in reverse order of disassembling the device.
Procedure
1. Attach the by-pass valves to both by-pass valve housings (18) and tighten.
2. Attach and tighten the bleed valve (17).
3. Push the stem (35) into the main body upper section (6).
4. Attach the stop ring (29).
5. Attach the circlip (washer wave spring).
6. Repeat the steps 5-7 for the 2nd ball in main body service valve (5).
7. Attach the ball seat (2) and the ball (36), and then rotate the stem of the upper ball
8. Attach the end section (37) and tighten the eight bolts (9).
9. Attach the handle (32).

Biennial inspection
Emerson recommends that the retrieval tool and the service valve get a full inspection
every second year, according to Emerson procedures.
During this inspection, the tool undergoes a complete inspection, with replacement of all
seals, together with a fully functional test at maximum working pressure. Contact
