3. Pull out the inner rod with the pilot body. Be careful to avoid damaging the seal
4. Unscrew the 4 bolts (31) and remove the crane hook.
5. Partly expand the inner barrel (22) and mount the safety clamp.
6. Pull back the hammer nut (28) and unscrew set screw (8) from the union thread

Postrequisites
All parts can now be properly cleaned and inspected. Use the nonmetallic pole, cloth, and
lubrication or cleaning solvent to clean the bores of outer and inner barrel.
After cleaning, all surfaces should be lubricated with a multipurpose lubricant that also
drives out moisture and protects against corrosion.
Mechanical retriever assembly
Prerequisites
A complete assembly drawing of the mechanical retriever tool can be found in

parenthetically in the following procedure.
Assembly will be done in the reverse order of the dis-assembly.
The following provides additional key points for the assembly :

1. When installing seals (9), (10), and (11), make sure they and their grooves are
