If particles of dirt or wax are present, the operator can face difficulties trying to achieve satisfactory pressure balance in the mechanical retrieval tool. The pressure difference can force the mechanical tool to expand uncontrollably, potentially causing harm to the operators. Apply pressure above pipeline pressure to the tool by an external pump. www.Emerson.com/Roxar...

Important Proper and regular maintenance is very important in order to ensure trouble-free operation of the Roxar Mechanical Retrieval Tool, and to keep it in good operating condition over a long period of time. Maintenance instruction After the storage period, the tool must be checked to ensure that it is in operational condition before being used.
  • Page 36 Important To clean the barrels of the Roxar Mechanical Retrieval Tool, use a clean, straight, nonmetallic pole (made of wood, nylon, or a polymer) with a smooth surface. The pole should have an external diameter between 25.4 mm and 31.75 mm, and a length that is equal to the length of the retriever when it is collapsed.

  • Page 39 9. Attach the handle (32). 5.1.4 Biennial inspection Emerson recommends that the retrieval tool and the service valve get a full inspection every second year, according to Emerson procedures. During this inspection, the tool undergoes a complete inspection, with replacement of all seals, together with a fully functional test at maximum working pressure.
