You can display the connection resources of an automation system in the hardware
configuration. You will find the connection resources in the Inspector window in the
properties of the CPU.

Station-specific connection resources
The columns of the station-specific connection resources provide information about the used
and available connection resources of the station.
In the example, a maximum of 256 station-specific connection resources are available for the
automation system.
● 10 reserved connection resources, of which 4 are already in use and a further 6 available.
The used resources are divided up as follows:
– 4 Resources for HMI communication
● 246 dynamic connection resources, of which 26 are already in use and a further 220
available.
The used resources are divided up as follows:
– 6 resources for HMI communication
– 7 resources for S7 communication
– 13 resources for Open User Communication
