Step 12: Optional: Switch on the permanent release manually again.
New firmware can be installed with the programming device via the RF
interface using a programming adapter A5 (included in the delivery of the
programming device). This takes around 8  minutes. The electronic door
fitting can not be actuated during this time. Avoid cancelling the firmware
update, e.g. due to empty batteries in the door fitting. If the firmware update
is not carried out completely, try again. The firmware is buffered up until the
point it is terminated.
Position the programming adapter in the centre in front of the interaction
surface and keep it still for the duration of the update. You can purchase the
programming adapter holder ETB-IM (Art. no. 5077359) if necessary and
use it as shown.
Once the firmware update is complete, the electronic door fitting can be
used in the usual way. The current firmware version in the electronic door
fitting is synchronised via the programming device with the next contact to
the locking system database via the blueControl software.
If an error occurs during the programming of the electronic door fitting, it is
usually caused by a transmission problem. To resolve this type of problem,
proceed as follows:
1. Check that a stable power supply is present (see.  9  Operation and 11.2
Replacing the battery).
2. Compare the desired operating mode with the actual operating mode. Are
permanent releases (manual or automatic) set, for example (see. 9
Operation)?
The following list shows possible error patterns and the measures taken to
resolve them:
Time invalid
10 x (50 ms signal and red LED, 20 ms pause)
In delivery state, the time is invalid due to the battery contact strip. Actuation
with keys authorised locally on the electronic door fitting is not possible if a
time restriction was also set for the authorisation (via a time profile).
To resolve the problem, set the time via the programming device.

Note for permanent release!
After the batteries are replaced, the actuator is initially
disengaged regardless of its last position. This over-
rides any manual permanent release that may have
been set previously. The automatic permanent release
switching then takes place. If the time in the door
fitting is invalid/not set, the automatic switching does
not take place.
