Landmark for Profibus

Appendix B - Using the LMP via the Config Port

It is possible to use the LMP without Profibus - although customers are
recommended to purchase a Landmark Technic, which provides this
functionality at lower cost.
To disable the Profibus function and use the configurator port, cable and
software available from Land Instruments:
Switch off.
Remove all connections.
Remove the LMP from the DIN rail.
From the top, set the Profibus DP address to 00.
From the underneath, through the vents of the plastic case, it is possible
to see a small rotary switch on the circuit board. Use a long, narrow
screwdriver to set the switch to 0.
Replace the LMP onto the DIN rail.
Reconnect all connectors, except Profibus, ensuring that the Profibus
address remains at 00.
Connect the configurator port to a PC, using the cable provided. Follow the
'Installation' and 'Getting Started' instructions detailed in Appendix B.
To re-enable the Profibus function:
Switch off.
Remove all connections.
Remove the LMP from the DIN rail.
From the underneath, through the vents of the plastic case, it is possible
to see a small rotary switch on the circuit board. Use a long, narrow
screwdriver to set the switch to 1.
From the top, set the Profibus DP address to the required slave address.
Replace the LMP onto the DIN rail.
Reconnect all connectors, except to the configurator port.
Connect a Profibus master and resume Profibus operation.
Disabling the Profibus system allows the LMP to be configured using a
standard PC (with an RS232C port) and the Landmark Technic configuration
software.
Once configured, the PC can be disconnected and the LMP can be left to run
alone, with configuration stored into it's non-volatile memory.
