PRE-USE INFORMATION

 2.1 Storage and Transportation
Storage/transportation temperature must be between -50°C and +50°C.
The fall arrester must be kept clean, dry and dust free. It should not be stored near heat
sources. No sun exposure during storage/transportation.
Ensure that the fall arrester is protected from damage during storage/transportation.
 2.2 Inspection before use
2.2.1 Before each usage, the whole fall arrester including the carabiner hook should be checked
for correct functioning. (See the inspection checklist 5.4)
2.2.2 The complete fall arrest system has to be checked in addition.

of the end stops must lock automatically in the initial position..
2.2.4 Before each use it is necessary to check that all components of the fall arrester are
moving freely, especially the safety catch, the shock absorber must not be deformed.
To check, lift the catch nose to reveal the fall indication arrows (see Fig. 9 detail 2.2). Fall
indication arrows must be aligned and pointing to each other.
2.2.5 The fall arrester must not be used if there are any visible defects or doubts concerning safe-
ty. If this is the case, do not use it until an authorised person or body (as defined in section
4.3) approves it for further use. Send the fall arrester back to the manufacturer if required.
2.2.6 Users need to be in a good and healthy condition and physically fit. It is prohibited to climb
if users are influenced by drugs, alcohol or medicine.
 2.3 Installation mandatory pre-requisites and pre-use
recommendations

Failure to comply with the instructions of this section may result in serious injury or death!
The fall arrester should be used in combination with the elements of the Söll GlideLoc sys-
tem as described in the above section "compatibilities".
Note:
It is necessary to be extremely careful at the bottom of the fall arrest system. Within the first
2m of the climbing path special attention during ascending and descending is required
because it may not be possible to prevent the user from hitting the ground. (Fall arrest dis-
tance plus body height of the user is approximately 2 meters)
A vertical safety distance of at least 4,5m between the 2 users or the ground is mandatory
(see Fig. 1).
