Preface

Purpose of the documentation
This manual supplements the ET 200SP distributed I/O system system manual.
Functions that generally relate to the system are described in this system manual.
The information provided in this manual and in the system/function manuals supports you in
commissioning the system.
Conventions
CPU: The term "CPU" as used in this manual refers to both the central modules of the S7-1500
automation system and to the CPUs/interface modules of the ET 200SP distributed I/O system.
STEP 7: We use "STEP 7" as synonym for all versions of "STEP 7 (TIA Portal)" to refer to the
configuration and programming software in this documentation.
