Troubleshooting

If the Promethean Chromebox is not operating correctly, please check the following table before contacting Technical Customer
Support.
Problem
The power is switched on,
but the Promethean
Chromebox does not start
The Promethean Chromebox
cannot access the Local Area
Network
The Promethean Chromebox
cannot connect to a Bluetooth
device
There is no sound coming
from the Promethean
Chromebox

Resetting the Promethean Chromebox

To reset the Promethean Chromebox, insert a pointed tool into the reset hole on the side of the device.
For more information, see section "Front view" on page 8.
Solution
• Ensure that the AC adapter is plugged into the power socket on the Promethean Chromebox.
• Ensure that the AC adapter is connected to the power cable.
• Ensure that the power cable is connected to an AC power outlet.

• Ensure that you have connected one end of an RJ-45 cable to the LAN port of the Promethean Chromebox and
the other end to the network connection device or a network wall connector. For more information, see section
"Connecting to a Local Area Network" on page 18.
• Make sure you have configured the LAN settings correctly. For more information, see section "Configuring
settings" on page 22.
• Ensure that the Bluetooth device to which you want to connect is near the Promethean Chromebox, and is
visible to other devices. For more information, see section "Connecting to Bluetooth devices" on page 21.
• Ensure that audio is not set to mute, and that the volume is set high enough to hear. For more information, see
section "Changing the volume" on page 22.
