Nortel Networks Inc.
Nortel Secure Router 8000 Series
Remarks
When two routers are directly connected
back-to-back, set the master clock mode for
both of them or set one as the master clock
and the other set as the slave clock.
If you adopt WDM between the routers, set
both of them in the master clock mode.
If you adopt SDH or SONET system with
source between both the routers, set both of
them in the slave master clock mode to
synchronize with the SDH or SONET
system.
Configure clocks to only those interfaces
with PPP.
Interface configurations that include rate and
duplex mode are the same at the both ends.
For the IP addresses of the point-to-point
interfaces, set the subnet mask to 30 bits.
The MTU of local interface is the same as that
of the peer interface.
Remarks
There is no redundant static route.
Combine the routing entries through CIDR.
Do not create useless route and redundant
route.
