Customer Guide HPAC Cell Cleaning The Parata Mini utilizes high-pressure air counting (HPAC) cells to dispense pills. Prior to replenishing a cell with a new drug, the cell and chute should be properly cleaned to avoid cross contamination. This guide steps you through the process for cleaning cells. The process and materials used apply to both locking and non-locking standard and super cells.

Prepare the cell for cleaning: Note Leave the unit on and the Mini applications running. Obtain a pair of gloves from the cleaning kit and put them on. For a locking cell: Unlock the cell and open the cell door.

If left on, the stem cap could damage the coupler on the CAUTION manifold in the unit. Insert the cell into the Mini and unlock the cell door. Remove the cell and open the unlocked cell door; then continue with the next step.

Customer Guide HPAC Cell Cleaning Leaving the cell door open, insert the cell into the Mini and initiate a manual fill for 0 pills. Refer to the Mini Operator’s Guide for instructions on creating a manual fill. Note This process forces air through the cell to remove any remaining moisture.

You must calibrate the cell even if you are placing the same drug in the cell. The settings will have changed during the cleaning process. • Follow the process in the “Setting up a new cell” section in the Mini Operator’s Guide to assign a drug to the cell.
