UK │ 5. Safety instructions and warnings
 Only connect unit to a permanently wired
electrical installation with NYM-O / NYM-J, 2
x 1.5 mm² or 3x 1.5 mm².
 The units may only be operated using the
voltage and frequency shown on the rating
plate.
 The degree of protection stated on the
rating plate is only guaranteed if installation is
undertaken correctly and if the connection
cable is correctly guided through the cable
grommet. The grommet must tightly seal the
cable sheathing.
 Unit may be energized even when at a
standstill and may be switched on
automatically by sensors, such as for time
delay or humidity etc. Maintenance and fault
finding only permissible when carried out by
trained specialists.
Exercise caution when handling
packaging materials.
 Observe applicable safety and accident
prevention requirements.
 Store packaging material out of
the reach of children.

6. Installation preparations

Wall
NOTICE
If the surface is uneven, there is a dan-
ger of short circuits and damage to the
device if water can penetrate the
housing. Make sure there is a flat surface
in the area of the sealing ring. If necessary,
provide additional sealing measures.
The prescribed minimum distances
i
between the unit and the wall and
ceiling shown in figure D must be
observed.
1. Make sure the housing has a level base.
2. Fit wall breakthrough or drill core hole:
minimum diameter, 150 mm.
Recommendation: Fit wall sleeve
i
WH 150. Fit wall breakthrough with
minimum diameter 170 mm.

3. Lay power cable to installation location
(surface-mounted (AP) or recessed-moun-
ted (UP)); for clearances see  Fig. D.
Always note the relevant specifica-
i
tions for electrical installations and
when fitting equipment. In Germany
observe DIN VDE 0100 and the
corresponding parts in particular.
Ceiling
NOTICE
Danger of short-circuits and damage to
unit if condensation builds up in the fan
housing. Thermally insulate ventilation
ducts in professional manner. Allow for a
condensation drain or condensate collector
in the riser.
Prepare for mounting as described above
under 'Wall'.
Duct
1. Debur edges on the inside of the duct.
2. Prepare for mounting as described above
under 'Wall'.
Fan
1. Unpack unit and dispose of packaging
( Chapter 15.)
2. Remove cover unit [7] + [8]. To release the
cover unit, push the catch up ( fig. A).
3. Fit foam strip supplied to socket in centre
( fig. E).
4. For a surface-mounted electrical connec-
tion, drill out the housing segment [2.1]
(diameter 11 mm,  fig. H).

7. Installation

7.1 Installing housing

NOTICE
If fitted incorrectly, the impeller [7] will
scrape causing malfunctions and
damage the device. Do not twist or distort
the housing [1] during installation. Make
sure there is a flat surface.
