5. Transportation, storage

5.1 Transport

Risk of damage to unit if

Do not place load on sensitive
components, such as an impeller
or terminal box.
Danger to life during transport:
Unauthorised means of
transport or lifting gear may

result in the unit falling off.
1. Weight:  note technical data
and centre of gravity (centre).
2. Observe the maximum permit-
ted loading capacity for lifting
gear and means of transport.
3. Do not stand under a
suspended load.
Risk of cuts from metal
housing plates with sharp
edges.
CAUTION
Wear protective gloves.
Notes
● Use suitable ropes or chains for transport.
● Only attach ropes or chains to the two eye
bolts [4].
● If possible, at the installation site use a
crane to position the unit on the roof.
● Maico accepts no indemnification or
warranty claims in the event of improper
transport.

5.2 Storage

● Only store fan horizontally in a suitable,
dry room: ambient temperature
- 10 to + 60 °C.
● Before installing, check that the motor
bearing is working properly.
● Maico accepts no liability for corrosion
damage caused by improper storage,
e. g. storage in a damp room.

6. Installation preparations

CAUTION
Wear protective gloves.
Notes
● Lay a permanent power cable to the
installation location.
● Always note the relevant specifications
for electrical installations and when fitting
equipment. In Germany observe DIN
VDE 0100 and the corresponding parts
in particular.
● Ensure the base frame is suitable and
level.
● Use suitable insulation, sound-deadening
and installation material between the unit
and roof socket.
● With a free inlet, fit a protective grille
(type SG) in front of the housing [7].
