Preparing for extended periods of disuse

If the storage cylinder is not going to be used for an extended
period of time, perform the following operations:
− deactivate the domestic hot water function on the boi-
ler combined with the storage cylinder (see the specific
chapter in the boiler's instruction booklet);
− close the water taps of the water system.

Empty the domestic hot water circuit and the heat exchan-
ger if there is a risk of frost (see section "Emptying")
Contact your local R Technical Assistance Service if you en-
counter any problems in completing the above procedure.
2.4

Cleaning

The only cleaning operations that need to be performed by the
user are those involving the external panels of the storage cylin-
der, which should be cleaned using just a cloth dampened with
soap and water.
In the case of stubborn marks, dip the cloth in a mixture of 50%
water and methylated spirits, or use specific products for this
purpose.
Once the cleaning is finished, carefully dry the storage cylinder.

Do not use abrasive cleaning pads or powder detergents.

It is forbidden to carry out any cleaning operations before
disconnecting the boiler from the mains electricity supply;
to do this, turn the main system switch and that of the boi-
ler to "off".

Maintenance

Please remember that THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR SYSTEM MA-
NAGEMENT MUST ENSURE THAT PROFESSIONALLY QUALIFIED HEATING
ENGINEERS UNDERTAKE PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND COMBUSTION
EFFICIENCY MEASUREMENTS.

legal requirements and can also provide useful information on
MAINTENANCE PROGRAMMES designed to guarantee:
− Greater safety
− Compliance with applicable legislation
− Freedom from the risk of fines in the event of spot checks.
Regular maintenance is essential for the safety, efficiency and
durability of the boiler.
Servicing is a legal requirement and must be performed at least
once a year by a professionally qualified heating engineer.
