5.3 Cabinet Installation

Note:
Before installing the VCN520 or VCN540 in the cabinet, install the mapping guide rail to bear the
device. If a guide rail has been installed in the cabinet, check whether the guide rail matches the
device. The device is equipped with right-to-left airflow. Therefore, check whether the guide rail
may block the air exhaust vent. If yes, replace the guide rail with a matched one.
Huawei provides the guide rail for the VCN. The stretching range of the guide rail ranges from
500 mm to 800 mm, which is used for cabinet installation when the distance between the front and
rear mounting bars is within the range. You need to purchase the guide rail based on the site
requirements.
When the VCN is installed in a cabinet, do not install the rubber foot which will occupy the cabinet
space.
5.3.1 Single-Device Deployment Scenario
First confirm the installation location of the guide rail in the cabinet. Install the floating nuts used to fix the

guide rail in the installation location. There are two and three floating nuts at the front and rear of the
cabinet respectively, as shown in the lower left figure.

For details about how to install floating nuts, see the lower right figure. As shown in step 1 in the
lower-right figure, insert one leg of the floating nut into the square holefrom inside of the cabinet,
so that the leg hooks over the lower frame of the square hole. Asshown in step 2 in the lower-right
figure, use the floating nut hook to catch the other leg of thefloating nut. Pull the hook forward until
the leg hooks over the upper frame of the square hole.

Install the guide rail. Horizontally place the guide rail to the installation location through the positioning block
at the front of the guide rail and the positioning hook at the rear of the guide rail, as shown in the lower left
figure. Use four M6 screws (two on each side) to fix the front end and six M6 screws (three on each side)
to fix the rear end, as shown in the lower right figure.
Note: Before installing the guide rail, you can view the mark (F/L, F/R) on the guide rail to differentiate
the left, right, front, rear ends of the guide rail to avoid reverse installation. F/L indicates the front end
of the guide rail on the left side. F/R indicates the front end of the guide rail on the right side.
