specific causes to problems are best identified by thorough inspections performed by personnel instructed in safety, operation and
maintenance of this equipment. The chart below provides a brief guide to common problems, probable causes and remedies. Refer to the
Balancer Service Manual for Balancer/Control specific problems.
Symptom
Hook does not balance or raise and lower.
Hook up and down is erratic.
Arm movement is stiff.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Possible Cause
Balancer controls may need adjustment.
Air lines or connections may be leaking.
Air line connections incorrect.
Cable guide wheels or bearings are dam-
aged.
Cable may be damaged.
Swivel assembly bearings require lubrica-
tion.

Remedy
Refer to Balancer manual for adjustment of
controls.
Check air system for leaks and repair if
leaks are found.
Reconnect air lines as described in 'Connec-
tion of Air Lines' in "INSTALLATION"
section.
Inspect guide wheels and bearing sleeves for
damage or tightness. Repair or replace as
required.
Inspect cable and replace if damaged or
worn.
Check locknut adjustment and lubricate
bearings.
