Key combinations
Alternatively, use key combinations to call up menu items. To do so, hold down
the [Alt] key, and then press the key that is highlighted in the menu. This activates
and opens that menu item.
Mouse
You can also select a menu item by clicking on it with the mouse. This activates
and opens that menu item.
When you have opened a menu item, you can select one of its menu options. You
can also select these menu options in a number of way:
Direct selection
You can select a menu option simply by pressing the key that is highlighted in
that menu option `s description. Warning! This procedure is different from menu
item selection: do NOT press the [Alt] key: instead, simply press the appropriate
character key on the keyboard.
Direction key
Use the direction keys to select a menu option. Then you can press [¿] to call it
up.
Mouse
You can also select a menu option by clicking on it with the mouse..
These selection methods apply to all MMI menus, and are therefore not explained
in detail again in the rest of this documentation.
Using the online help - [F1]
The program provides you with detailed online help. Wherever you are in the
program, you can press [F1] to call up context-related help about the program
item you are currently using, and to solve any problem that might arise. The help
function opens a window in the centre of the screen, containing the appropriate
help text. In some cases, you will see underlined or highlighted words or phrases
in this help text. These are known as hypertext entries: they are the key to more
help information. If more than one hypertext entry is present, you can use the
[TAB] key to jump between them. Press [¬] to call up a hypertext entry that your
cursor is positioned on. You can also select an entry, and display its help
information, by double clicking on it with the mouse.
Help index - [Shift] + [F1]
Hold down [Shift] and press [F1] to access the help index. This displays all the
help subjects available.
Press [Esc] to close the help display function, at any time.
