General Safety Recommendations

Caution!
Danger of injury! Chafing dishes are relatively heavy, depending on the design. Hold firmly when
unpacking, transport, etc. and do not drop.
Caution!
Danger of scalding! Chafing dishes get hot during operation and hot steam can escape. Handle with
caution when filling, changing the insert, etc.
Caution!
Check the water level periodically to prevent it from emptying.
3.2
What to Do if a Fire Breaks Out (heating with fuel paste)
Throw a damp (not wet) cloth over the burning objects to smother the flames.
Important: Use only a cloth made of natural fibres (100% cotton, wool, linen, etc.)

Initial Operation

• Remove all packaging material and dispose of it properly.
• Clean all parts as described in Chapter 6.
• Place the water bath on a suitable heat source. If heating with fuel paste, please use the optional stand.
• Set the adjustable foot mounted at the back to a height that prevents the water bath from rocking to
ensure safe operation.
• Fill with hot water (min. 60-70ºC), noting the MAX mark. Ensure that the inserts do not touch the surface
of the water. Porcelain inserts should be preheated to 70-100ºC before being filled with food.
• Important: Hot water condenses. Check the water level periodically. Add hot water if needed to prevent
the water from boiling away, resulting in damage.
• For reasons of hygiene, we recommend keeping the food hot no longer than 2 to 3 hours. To maintain
the quality of the food, the cover should be closed after food is removed.
