6.1
Fitting the side handle
CAUTION
Risk of injury! Loss of control over the rotary hammer drill.
▶ Check that the side handle is fitted correctly and tightened securely. Check that the clamping band is
engaged in the groove in the tool.
1. Release the side handle clamping band by turning the handle grip.
2. Slide the side handle clamping band over the chuck from the front and into the recess provided.
3. Bring the side handle into the desired position.
4. Tighten the side handle clamping band by turning the handle grip.

Fitting the depth gauge
1. Press and hold down the release button on the side handle.
2. Slide the depth gauge from the front into the opening provided in the side handle. Adjust the depth gauge
to the desired drilling depth.
3. Release the release button.
▶ The depth gauge is locked.
6.3
Fitting the accessory tool
Lightly grease the connection end of the accessory tool.
Use only genuine Hilti grease. Using the wrong grease can result in damage to the tool.
1. Push the accessory tool into the chuck as far as it will go, turning it and applying light pressure until it
engages with an audible click.
2. After fitting the accessory tool, grip it and pull it in order to check that it is securely engaged.
▶ The product is ready for use.

Types of work
WARNING
Damaged power cords are a safety hazard! If the supply cord or extension cord is damaged while work
is in progress, immediately disconnect the device and the cord from the electricity supply. Do not touch the
damaged part of the cord.
▶ Regularly check all supply cords. Replace defective extension cords. Have damaged power cords
replaced by a qualified specialist.
Use of a ground fault circuit interrupter (residual current device, RCD) with a maximum tripping current of
30 mA is recommended.

Forward / reverse
▶ Set the forward / reverse selector switch to forward or reverse rotation.

Drilling without hammering
▶ Set the function selector switch to the "Drilling without hammering" position

Drilling with hammer action (hammer drilling)
▶ Set the function selector switch to the "Hammer drilling" position
7.4
Chisel positioning
▶ Set the function selector switch to the "Chisel positioning" position
▶ The chisel can be adjusted to 18 different positions (in 20° increments). This ensures that flat chisels
and shaped chisels can always be set to the optimum working position.
