The Model 751-801 SmartSeries
intelligent handset for use on the GAI-Tronics multi-party system cable (system cable) in either a

system or an ADVANCE system. It includes a micro-controller that can perform
the following functions:
Supervise the local speaker
Measure the ambient noise and adjust the speaker output level
Transfer data messages and audio on the system cable
Support an optional Party Line EOL Module, which supervises party line 1
Support an optional SmartSeries

Problem Possible Solution Any problem Remove the assembly from the enclosure and examine it carefully for obvious with station faults such as unconnected plugs, loose connections and so on.

Fault messages and possible solutions for their causes are described in the table below.

There are two replaceable fuses used in the assembly. Both are mounted on the Base-16 PCBA, as shown in Figure 4, and both limit the amount of current from the 120 V ac source.

  • Page 10 Pub. 42004-610L2A ® Model 751-801 SmartSeries Speaker Amplifier Page: 10 of 12 Offset Level The Offset Level adjustment causes the speaker amplifier to maintain a set difference between the ambient level and the speaker output level. The SmartVolume™ feature measures the ambient noise at the associated speaker and adds the Offset Level to set the speaker amplifier gain.
