CHAPTER 1 Introduction

1. Purpose

This manual covers procedures of installing "SV8500 PC Programming" (hereinafter "PCPro") and "SV8500
PC Programming Tools" (hereinafter "PCPro Tools"), both as application tools for installing and servicing UNI-
VERGE SV8500 (hereinafter "SV8500") and configuring its communication with the SV8500, along with help-
ful tips on configuring the system data.
For the details of each commands to be used on the PCPro, refer to Command Manual.
The PCPro is available since Feature Package 7300 (R3)/FP30-100 R16. However, the MSVIP command

2. Outline of This Manual

This manual consists of eight chapters. The following paragraphs summarize chapters 2 through 8.
• Chapter 2: PCPro Overview
Provides introductory information about PCPro and proceeds to describe its system configuration, operat-
ing environment, working conditions and more.
• Chapter 3: Setting Up PCPro
Explains how to connect the SV8500 and PCPro, how to install, launch and exit the application, establish
a communication link between the SV8500 and the PCPro.
• Chapter 4: PCPro Window Layout
Explains the PCPro window layout, submenus on the screen and the function of the work window, etc.
• Chapter 5: Various Settings of PCPro
Explains the various settings of PCPro.
• Chapter 6: Command Operation
Explains how to operate each commands to execute on the PCPro.
• Chapter 7: PCPro Tools
Explains how to use the PCPro Tools for uploading/downloading a data to/from the CF card of the system.
• Chapter 8: Appendix
Explains how to uninstall the PCPro, and the description of error messages.
