    Overview | Overview This manual includes the information required for operating and maintaining the heat recovery unit. If other accessories not included at delivery are in use, read their separate instructions. Intended use The units are intended to provide ventilation and depending on settings, heat recovery, air heating or free cooling.   • Page 8 3.1.4 Heat exchanger Topvex SC, TC models are equipped with a counter flow heat exchanger and a by-pass damper. The operation of the by-pass damper is automatic and depends on the set temperature or if defrosting is in operation. For defrosting a pressure transmitter is installed which measure the differential pressure over the heat exchanger.
  • Page 9 Product description | 3.1.8 Free cooling description This function is used during the warm period to save energy by using cold outdoor air, e.g. during night time, to cool down the building and thereby reducing the need for cooling during the day time. Note: The following is only valid if the free cooling function is activated in the program menu.
  • Page 10 | Product description 3.1.9 Section defrosting A differential pressure sensor measures the pressure drop over the exchanger’s extract/exhaust air side to detect any frost build up in the exchanger. The system automatically calibrates the exchanger’s nominal pressure drop to obtain the correct pressure limit in relation to the airflow.

    Access control cabinet | Access control cabinet Danger Disconnect the mains power supply to the unit before moving the Access control cabinet or opening the lid. Warning Before obtaining access to terminals, all supply circuits must be disconnected. Access control cabinet is mounted on top of the unit. It is possible to remove the cabinet and mount it in a suitable loca- tion.

    How to replace supply/extract air filter The bag filter must be changed when necessary, they cannot be cleaned. New filters can be ordered from Systemair. Operation time between filter changes depends on the air quality. A differential pressure transmitter indicates when it is time to change the filters, which will trigger an alarm in the control panel.

    Maintenance | How to replace the fan module When ordering a replacement fan module, note if it is supply or extract fan. This is important for the fan to get the cor- rect Modbus address. 1. Disconnect the fast coupling to the electric wire and the blue and red tubes from the supply air fan (standard units with CAV) 2.

Rotate the damper and lift in the direction away from the exchanger. 6. Lift the damper out from the middle section. Caution Do not drag the damper on the exchanger.
