Hard Drive Installation 1. Insert the Removable Hard Disk (Disk(s) to the rack, and make sure it is well mounted. Then lock the hard disk drive with its key. Connection to Monitor 1. Connect the VGA cable (with D-type, High Density, 15 pins plug) to the VGA port in the back of the Main Server.
1-1 Booting Up 1. Push the Power Button (to the right of the RESET button). Power Button Linux MPEG4 Security Video Server 2. The system will boot up and enter the main screen.
1-2 Main Screen Date/Time Display Mode Hard Disk Free Space Playback System Settings The above picture is an example of the main screen. The menu bar is on top of the screen; from left to right is the Display Mode, Date/Time, Hard Disk Free Space, Playback and System Settings.
2-3 Display Mode The five icons on left side of the menu bar in the Main Screen are Display Mode selection. icon is used to display all 4 cameras There are four additional display icons: Clicking this icon with the mouse will show the image of the 1 camera with full screen.
2-4 Hard Disk Free Space In the right side of the menu bar in the Main Screen, the Hard Disk Free Space display is easily located. It is shown as a number in color with a “%” sign. When you start using a new hard disk (e.g.: a hard disk with capacity 40GB), the display will show a number very close to 100% and the color will be BLUE.
1-5 Playback 1-5-1 Entering Playback mode When you click this icon, the system will display this image: 1-5-2 Select Playback Period You can use the mouse to select the “Time-segment Directory” in the left corner of the screen. 1-5-4 Playback Control Buttons In addition to “Brightness” and “Contrast” controls, there are more option buttons on the playback mode as below: PLAY : To start viewing the images at normal speed. PAUSE : To freeze a image. You can also pause by clicking the screen.
1-6 System Settings 1-6-1、Entering System Settings frame 1. Click the icon to enter System Settings. Click here to enter System Settings 2. Enter the secret code. The pre-set number is 1111。 3. If a wrong number is entered, click No button, and enter the new number again.

1-6-2 Recording Configuration 1. The settings of Video Format, Resolution, and Quality of the four cameras will be the same. Whichever camera is chosen to configure the settings, all the other cameras settings will change accordingly. 2. However, the settings for Frame Rate and Sensibility can be adjusted individually for each camera.

6. Frame Rate: Options: 0.1、0.2、0.5、1.0、2.0、3.0、4.0、5.0、10、15 This is to adjust the frame rate for recording. The higher the number, the higher frame rate will be recorded. However, with frame rate, the faster for the hard disk space will be consumed. One thing to remember: the total frame rate of the entire system is limited.

1-6-4 Network Configuration Select Enable or Disable to enable/disable remote monitoring. Click Up & Down buttons for IP, NetMask, GateWay adjustment; click Set when ready. Note: Please consult the instructions provided with a COP Remote View & Playback package or your Internet Service Provider for the relevant information. Click on the red disk icon on the top right corner to save the setting.

1-6-6、Password setting There are three sets of passwords. (1) Password: Administrator password; to access the configuration setting. (2) Net Pass Password: to monitor remotely. (3) Dial-In Password: to access LINUX MPEG4 Security Video Server via modem dial-in. The three sets of passwords are default to 1111. Change Password: (1) Click the diamond icon to select the input box, Using the on screen keyboard enter a new password.
1-7 Remote Monitoring In order to view and play recorded video the DVR must be connected to the Internet/LAN. Note: a COP Remote view and playback package is recommended. To View or play back video at a remote site the user must have the following:- Windows PC connected to the Internet.
1-8 Installation of Remote Playback To be able to run “Remote Monitoring Function via MPEG4” and the “Remote Playback” functions, a “player” program needs to be installed on user’s computer in advance. The “player” program can be downloaded from the DVR web page as follows. Click on “Download Player”...

1-9 How to use Remote Playback After the installation, you can start using Remote Playback by clicking on “Playback” selection on the LINUX MPEG4 Security Video Server web page. The following screen will be displayed: First select a camera, then select the recording date and recording time (hour:minute).

2-0 How to Use Local Playback From the remote playback web page, select to download the current playing record with an image file (*.MP4) and a relative index file (*.CVX), to the selected directory. Note that the two files must be saved in the same directory.
2.1 Backup Solution 1: Swap Removable Hard Disk If it is necessary to save all the recording data, the most economical way will be to store data by swapping the removable hard disk. • Please document the dates for the recorded data that is on the old hard disk before swapping.

2-2-2、to insert an old disk The DVR will verify whether theHDD contains old LINUX MPEG4 Security Video Server data.. Play Only to enter PLAYBACK screen. Normal Start to enter Main Screen. Format to format the hard disk, then reboot. Shutdown to turn off DVR to swap another hard disk.
2-3 Backup Solution 2: CD-R/RW Recorder When you need to save video files for evidences or reference, the most convenient way is to record to CD-R or CD-RW, These can be played on almost any PC with a CD player. The video playback program will also be copied to the CD-R/RW as well as the video files.

Re-insert the CDRW to be written to. Select files to write to CD-RW Expand the hard drive directories in the left of the screen. Drag the mouse to highlight and select the recording files for writing to CD-RW(by year, month, day order) as shown below. Then click on to select them.

6. Click on button, the system will first check if there is a blank CD inside the CD-R/RW recorder. If not, the system will request a blank CD to be inserted. When there is a blank CD inside the system, the files will be converted into standard ISO 9660 format files, and burn the files to the CD.
