Installing the Waterproof Socket for the Outdoor Fiber
Appearance of the waterproof socket

Rubber washer
Shell
Thread the outdoor fiber through the shell, rubber
washer, and collar. Insert the rubber washer into the
collar.
CAUTION
Insert the washer side with a V-shaped slot into the
collar. See the following figures. Ensure that the V-
shaped slot securely engages the collar.
•Ensure that the V-shaped slot securely engages the collar.
•Ensure that the rubber washer is well sealed. No misalignment or
crack should be observed.
Turn the collar to align it with the slot on the flange
socket and push the socket into the slot to fix the socket
on the flange socket.
CAUTION
Ensure that the rubber washer remains in the correct
position in the socket.

Thread the outdoor fiber through the waterproof socket
Optional: Remove the waterproof block at the end of
the rubber washer.
CAUTION
If you only assembly the
waterproof block but do not
route a fiber through it, you do
not need to remove the
waterproof plug.
Remove the dustproof cap on the flange socket of the
GE(o)/COMBO port and carefully insert the LC/PC
connector of the outdoor fiber into the optical module.

Tighten the shell of the waterproof socket.
Red O-ring
CAUTION
The shell is completely tightened when the red O-
ring cannot be seen.
