ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Thank you for purchasing a quality select hardwood rocking chair. Your chair comes with a rich heritage
and will become a treasured family heirloom. If you should have any comments or questions please call the
toll-free number below between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM CST Monday through Friday. Again, we appreciate
your business and hope you get many years of enjoyment from this chair.
NOTICE: The Rocking Chair product that you have purchased requires some assembly. As with all furniture,
proper assembly is necessary for the safe and comfortable use of your rocker. Hinkle Chair cannot be responsible
for any damage or injury that results from improper assembly of the chair. Please read and follow these instructions
carefully and in sequence. If you have any questions please call The Hinkle Chair Company helpline (800) 251-3025

PLEASE NOTE: The Rocker you have purchased is depicted above. Many of our rockers assemble with the exact same
steps and the only difference is the appearance of the chair. If the rocker depicted in the assembly steps does not look
the chair you purchased, it assembles with the same steps. Also, all references of left and right in these instructions are
from the perspective of standing in front of the chair facing it, not siting in it.

  • Page 4 STEP 1: __________________________________________ ______________________________________________ Place right side of rocker D-R on cardboard shipping box with mortised Pick up Chair Back A and insert in the mortises in the . holes facing up. Insert the front spindles C-2 into the pre-drilled hole in Chair side D-R.
  • Page 5 STEP 2:________________________________________________________________________________________ Insert Seat B, below the arm and above the top Spindles. The Place left side of rocker D-L over the tenons that are facing up and Seat B is marked front and back. You will not be attaching the align.
  • Page 6 STEP 2: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Continue to tap the Rocker Side D-L down forcing the mortises down on the tenons. It may take a few times to get all completely inserted into mortises.   • Page 7 STEP 3: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Again beginning at the top, place a Hex Screw into the pre-drilled hole and thread the Hex Screw in with the Hex Wrench provided. Note: Do not fully tighten until all Hex Screws have been inserted. Fig. 10 Fig.
  • Page 8 STEP 3: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Move to the front post and continue the process. Complete for all five Hex Head Screws. Fig. 12 Fig. 12 STEP 4:____________________________________________________ _____________ _______________________ Rotate the upper side spindle in Rocker Side D-L until the pre-drilled hole is at a 45 degree angle. Start the Seat Screw into the pre-drilled hole and align with the pre-drilled hole in the bottom of the seat.
  • Page 9 STEP 5: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Place Runner E onto tenons on the bottom of the back and Front post. Note: There are pre-drilled holes in the side of the Runners E for the Nails that are provided. These pre- drilled holes should face to the inside of the rocker. Once aligned tap the runner fully onto the tenons.
  • Page 10 STEP 6: _________________________________________________________________________________________ Go back through and fully tighten all 10 Hex Head Screws and the 4 Seat Screws. Be careful not to over tighten.   • Page 11 CARE TIPS LISTED BELOW ARE SOME TIPS TO HELP KEEP YOUR FURNITURE LOOKING NEW. To preserve the finish on stained or pure white furniture it is highly recommended that they either be placed indoors or in a protected environment such as a covered porch. In any case the finish will last longer and look better if kept out of direct sunlight and blowing rain.
